Pre-Engineering: week of 5/15/17 thru week of 5/22/2017

Greetings future engineers! Here's what's happening in Mr. Davis' Pre-Engineering Courses:

Robotics 1: Period 2B:  Students are now all working of SUMO-BOT. Competitions will begin on 5/11/17. This is our last challenge of the year. Following this, we will re-inventory and restore our kits to original condition and then take our final exam.
Robotics 2: Period 1A, 2A, and 3A: Students are completing Remote Video Operation and have been testing and refining their All-Terrain  bots.  As students finish the indoor All-Terrain time trials, they will build "Drift Bots" that demonstrate control and agility around an indoor set of pylons.

Intro to Engineering Design: Period 3B: Students are completing their Sailboat Drawings....which demonstrate the students' mastery of all learned drafting skills to date. The class did an excellent job designing and refining their sailboats. Our last chapter of the year is CH-13 which deals with oblique and isometric pictorial views and dimensioning.

Advanced Engineering Design 1B:
Students are finishing  the All-Terrain Vehicle Challenge, exploring articulating vehicle design and advanced traction configurations. The last challenge of the year is the Catapult Challenge, exploring trajectories, acceleration, moment arms and structural considerations.
